MS - Agronomy and Sustainable Livelihoods Department is manned by Agronomists, Soil Engineers, Civil Engineers and Rural Development Specialists, Micro-finance Specialists and Socio-economists 

Our Services include:

-Agriculture and Agronomy

1       Agronomic follow-up including sustainable application of organic and inorganic fertilisers (inputs)

2       Training of extension workers in crop agronomy

3       Set up and Operation of local and national seed banks

4       Operation of a fertiliser revolving fund

5       Training and advising farmers in improved production technologies

6       Monitoring and supervision  

 

Other Integrated Sustainable Livelihood Strategies:

-Water Management and Integrated Rural Development

Forming farmers into WUGs and training them in the following:

- group formation and management, 

-  financial management,

- appropriate technology solutions for Rural Infrastructure     (roads, culverts, bridges, buildings)

- Microfinance and Micro-credit

- Adult Literacy/Education,

- Water, Sanitation and Environment,

- Health Education (including sensitization on HIV/AIDS, STDS, Malaria)

- Early Child Development and Education,

- Nutrition; and

- Empowerment Strategies and Plans using PRA and other participatory approaches

-Strategies to attain Millennium Development Goals
